What are the Glitterlites made out of?

Glitterlites are made from a multi-ply mylar polyester, making them heat-resistant, color-resistant, and able to hold texture better than traditional tinsel strands. This durability sets them apart from fragile tinsel types that lose their shape quickly.

One of the biggest misconceptions in the tinsel world is that ‘100% silk tinsel’ is superior—but here’s the truth: If you’ve ever seen tinsel that’s holographic, sparkly, or metallic, it’s not actually pure silk.

✨ Glitterlites give you the best of both worlds—they’re ultra-lightweight and seamless like silk, but strong, long-lasting, and able to hold curl and heat styling like professional-quality tinsel should. ✨

Are they heat & colour safe?

Yes! up to 210C✨ Glitterlites are colour and heat safe. You can apply any hair colour over them, and they’ll remain unchanged. Lightener can also be used, though we always recommend applying Glitterlites after a colour service for the best results.

If a client comes in for a colour touch-up with Glitterlites still in their hair, there’s no need to remove them. However, they won’t hold a perm, and high-volume lightener may reduce their shine

How are they applied?

Glitterlites are applied using our signature single-strand method—a seamless, durable, and ultra-lightweight technique that ties one Glitterlite to one strand of hair using a specialized knot and tools.

Unlike beads or slip knots, this method keeps the strands secure while blending naturally into any hair type.

Does the tinsel hold texture and curl?

Yes! ✨ Our strands are unique because they can hold texture and curl, giving a more natural, organic look—unlike traditional, stick-straight hair tinsel.

How long do they last?

It all depends on when your hair that the sparkle is attached to sheds. Each strand is tied in a secure knot to one single hair, so when that chosen hair sheds, so does the sparkle.

It is recommended that you get a service for more strands than you hope to wear, because one or two sparkles tend to fall out within the first week due to shedding. We are mindful of selecting the thickest, strongest individual hairs to tie to, but when a hair chooses to shed is a variable that is out of our control.

Can you tie strands into short hair?

Hair for sparkles needs to be at least 3 inches long to be able to tie the knot.
